Flea Treatment: What To Do Before Treatment.

Before I Arrive & Tips

1. Use a powerful vacuum on any floors, upholstery, and mattresses. Cracks and other tight spaces are usually good hiding places for fleas and their cohort of eggs, larvae, and cocoons.

2. If you can, use a vacuum with a bag you can dispose of without coming into contact with its contents.

3. Employ a steam cleaner for carpets and upholstery, including pet beds. The combination of high heat and soap is the enemy of fleas in all stages of life. Pay special attention to any spots where your pet usually lies down or spends a lot of time.

4. Wash all bedding, including your pet’s, in hot water and detergent. Dry it at the highest heat setting. If the infestation is severe, consider getting rid of old bedding and starting anew.

5. Make sure the floor is clear with particular attention to skirting boards. The more carpet and cracks I can treat the better results.

About The Treatment

1. I use a spray on all surfaces such as carpets and usually a few inches above skirting boards onto walls. The treatment leaves a residue which is easily hoovered up once treatment is completed.

2. You must not hoover within the two to three weeks after treatment.

3. You must vacate the property for at least four hours. When you return you must check for damp surfaces. If any surfaces are not dry, please vacate the property until it is deemed to be dry. You must take any animals such as cats/dogs with you. It is a very good idea to treat the cat for fleas just before I get there so there is no re-infestation on return.

4. I cannot treat pet bedding or human bedding directly. As mentioned above, please boil wash any such items. I can treat bed frames and under beds.

5. I advise the purchase of flea light trap stations which can be purchased from Amazon. I advise usage after two weeks of the treatment in areas where there was infestations such as next to the bed. This way we can assess what needs to be treated further and gauge the success of the treatment.

The treatment works like this:

The treatment is formulated as a suspo-emulsion (SE), was specifically designed for the effective control of bed-bugs and fleas, although the product carries a broad-spectrum label. This has a deadly triple effect – containing the killing agent alpha-cypermethrin, the knock-down agent tetramethrin, and the insect growth regulator (IGR) pyriproxifen. This particular treatment is ideal for use in any situation. It has proven to be very effective even in the most serious infestations, where call-backs are costly and bad for the client’s reputation.

When used for the control of fleas, it will kill the adult insects and the IGR will sterilise the eggs and prevent the development of larvae lying deep within the carpet fibre or hiding in cracks, ensuring excellent results.

Any treatment we use is thoroughly tested and approved by Government agencies, we also only use the very best products regardless of expense. Once dry they are completely safe and is approved under HSE NO. 10269 Please check my feedback for reassurance and let me know if you require an appointment
